National Coffee Day!

Two momentous occasions occurred today.

#1.  National Coffee Day aka International Coffee Day.  While the origins of this glorious day remain unknown, we do know that Krispy Kreme and 7-11 offered free coffee this morning.  I did not however take either of these establishments up on their offers.  I instead let my mom buy me coffee at Starbucks.  And it was delicious.

#2. The Day of My Birth.  While we do know the origins of this day (my mom told me), what you may not know is that it was one of the best birthdays to date.

I woke up to a cute baby, cute husband and some delicious homemade pancakes!  I told Josh it was like we were camping, but I didn't cry...(I've been known to cry while hiking.  Not because of the beauty of nature, but because of my wimpiness..)

The husband gave me my birthday card with the disclaimer that it was homemade, and that it may be entirely creepy.
And yes, that is a tiny baby head on my body.  Hallmark can't market this stuff.

Too many lawsuits.

I got to have lunch at the Garden of Olives with the mom, the baby (who was a champ), and the mom-in-law.  I neglected to get any pictures of the company or the yummy soup and salad.  I'm 32 now.  I forget things.

After the Olive it was onto the Starbucks to celebrate our National (and International) holiday!

Then it was onto the New Life to force my birthday party on every available cubicle and office.  I have to represent for South Everett Foursquare!  And National Coffee Day.  There was a lot at stake.

Jaim spoiled me with a mint cupcake and kitty card.  My friends are so good at me.  Whiskers made me cry like I was hiking.

Sometimes the birthday girl drops her cupcake box and destruction ensues.  The good news is that it was still salvageable.

The bad news is that it got dropped later on in our driveway and is now beyond recognition.  Don't tell Jaime.  I'll still eat it.

I celebrated it up with so many of my favorite people, including Catherine and Rhonda (and this delicious looking pear that somehow made it into the picture).
Rick (or Rico as the husband calls him) was sporting his "Farwest Medical Supplies" shirt, and my coffee.  I told him I'd give the company a free plug on here.  I'm up to something like 150 hits on here so business should increase markedly. (you're welcome Liz :)

I wanted to hang out with some of the loveliest women I know while sporting a tiny sombrero and mini balloon.  One of my many many birthday wishes of the day.

Mission accomplished thanks to Carolyn, Nicole, Wendy and Jaime's box o' props!

I got a shot with Fig Tree 21's former producer, Don Garberg, and the lovely Ilse.

I ran into Joe's office quickly and yelled "photo bomb!" which is what the kids seem to be into these days.  He loved it.

I then photo bombed Jeanette.  Who became immediately uncomfortable.

And Kristin.  Who immediately serenaded me in Spanish.

After all of my effort and revelry, someone much younger than I informed me that this is not actually photo bombing at all.  Epic fail.  (<--also what the kids are into)

The office doors slowly began to close in our nearby proximity (so people could celebrate National Coffee Day in silence), and I decided it was time to go onto the next birthday adventure.

Target.

A few hand soaps and flameless candles later (safety first), and it was onto the final event of National Coffee Birth Day....dinner at Anthony's with my favorite!

We got to enjoy a day that rivaled many of the actual summer days we had in Seattle this year.

It was a most lovely National Birthday :)  Complete with enough celebrating to wear out the most active tiny human.
